PressLoft had a strong product with high retention rates among existing clients, but their growth had plateaued. New brand sign-ups were almost entirely driven by word-of-mouth and inbound from their website, which created unpredictable revenue months. The team wanted a systematic outbound channel that could deliver a consistent flow of qualified leads without requiring a large sales team.
Previous attempts at cold outreach had resulted in low open rates and almost no replies. The messaging was too generic, the targeting was broad, and there was no follow-up automation in place.
🎯 The Solution
I designed and executed a multi-touch cold email campaign using Lemlist for email delivery, with deep personalization powered by prospect research and BuiltWith technology data. Instead of generic pitches, each email referenced the prospect's current PR tools, recent press coverage, and competitive landscape.
The campaign architecture included a 5-touch sequence spread over 3 weeks, with each follow-up adding new value (case studies, ROI calculators, free audit offers). I built Zapier automations to sync positive replies directly into PressLoft's CRM, trigger Slack notifications for the sales team, and automatically enrich leads with additional data points.
We segmented prospects into three tiers based on company size and current PR spend, with customized messaging and offers for each segment. A/B testing on subject lines and opening hooks ran continuously across the first 4 weeks.
